Two events involving different customers encouraged us to provide this service. In both cases, the companies were held liable for losses triggered by Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage. Each instance had the same theme – the insured was carrying basic limits on these coverages and suffered a loss that required payments far beyond the limits reflected on the policy. The carrier, however, ended up paying for the claim anyway because their underwriting file did not have a signed “Selection/Rejection” form consistent with that state’s law.
